In my previous post, I introduced the world of The Night Chronicles, but a world is only as stable as the hands that hold it together. To truly understand the tension that ripples through the realm, we must look at the power structures that dictate life and survival within its borders.

Today, I am pulling back the curtain on the Political Hierarchy of Lunaria.

From the highest seats of influence to those who operate in the shadows, the social and political ladder is as complex as the magic that fuels it. Under the foundational Shadow Accord, every Nocturni vampire owes loyalty and service to those directly above them, culminating in absolute service to the Royal Family. Here is the structure that keeps our world from collapsing into the chaos of its primordial past: 

• The Royal Family: Standing at the apex of the hierarchy, the Royal Family holds absolute rule over Lunaria. As the primary conduit of the realm’s Core Magic, the reigning Monarch serves as the ultimate interpreter and enforcer of the Shadow Accord. 
• The High Houses: These ancient and influential noble vampire families form the backbone of the Nocturni aristocracy. They are granted control and management over specific regions and territories by the Crown, and their influence is vital to the realm's intricate balance. 
• The Lieutenants: Chosen for their proven power, specialized skills, and unwavering dedication, these direct agents of the Crown execute the Monarch's will. They often operate with broader, non-territorial authority to enforce the laws of the Covenant. 
• The Lower Ranks: This foundational tier comprises Lesser Vampires and those bound into service. Their survival and relative stability depend entirely on their diligence in fulfilling their assigned duties and their strict adherence to the bond of fealty. 

This rigid hierarchy is not merely a political construct; it is a manifestation of the magical binding that defines our existence. Power flows upward, and duty is the price paid for survival.
